Papaya Sweet

Ingredients:



1 ripe papaya, peeled, seeded, and chopped

1 cup sugar

Juice of 1 lemon


Instructions:


Place the chopped papaya in a saucepan and add the sugar and lemon juice.

Cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally, until the papaya softens and the mixture

thickens to a jam-like consistency. This may take around 30-40 minutes.

Remove from heat and let it cool completely.

Transfer the doce de papaia to a jar or airtight container and refrigerate.

Serve chilled as a sweet spread or topping for desserts.
